Our Mission

Christ United Methodist Church has been called to be a living light
unto the world and through Christ, give light to all mankind.
May our lives so shine that others may see the living Christ in us.

In this impersonal age in which we live, where our identity is often
reduced to being just a number, we each need a place where
we are highly regarded as a unique creation of God.
At Christ United Methodist Church, we are welcomed as we are
and valued as a gifted member of an extended family
and a vital part of the body of Christ.

The United Methodist Church:

Beliefs: With Christians of other communions we confess belief in the triune
God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This confession embraces the biblical witness to God’s
activity in creation, encompasses God’s gracious self-involvement in the dramas
of history, and anticipates the consummation of God’s reign.

The created order is designed for the well being of all creatures
and as the place of human dwelling in covenant with God.
As sinful creatures, however, we have broken that covenant,
become estranged from God, wounded ourselves and one another,
and wreaked havoc throughout the natural order.
We stand in need of redemption.

Directions: From I-40, take NC 114 (exit # 107) toward Drexel;
stay straight for about 1.5 miles to US – 70 (the first red light).
Turn Left and go about 1 mile, a very short distance
after you go under the next red light turn right onto Starnes Rd.
The church will be on the left.
