Christ United Methodist Church
Drexel, North Carolina
Open Hearts...Open Minds...Open Doors
All Church Activities are canceled
for Sunday 1/31/2010
The
weather forecast is calling for a wintry mix again for this
weekend. Hopefully, it won’t be as bad this time. Whenever there
is ice, snow, or a wintry mix and we feel that we can still have
church, the main concern is for your safety. Please prayerfully
consider when you feel it is safe for you and your family to attend
on days of inclement weather. We will have the information
concerning cancellation of all services on television: WSOC-TV and
WBTV in Charlotte. We will also have the announcement on WMNC 1430
radio and on our website
www.christumcdrexel.org.
We will soon be able to
have a message on the church phone for your convenience.
Also, if we only have
the 10:55o’clock worship service, there will be no Sunday School.
Hopefully, with all
these options, you will hear the news!

Our
Mission
Christ
United Methodist Church has been called to be a living light
unto the world and through Christ, give light to all
mankind.
May our lives so shine that others may see the living Christ
in us.
In this
impersonal age in which we live, where our identity is often
reduced to being just a number, we each need a place where
we are highly regarded as a unique creation of God.
At Christ United Methodist Church, we are welcomed as we are
and valued as a gifted member of an extended family
and a vital part of the body of Christ.

The United
Methodist
Church:
Beliefs: With
Christians of other communions we confess belief in the triune
God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This confession embraces the
biblical witness to God’s
activity in creation, encompasses God’s
gracious self-involvement in the dramas
of history, and anticipates
the consummation of God’s reign.
The created order is designed
for the well being of all creatures
and as the place of human
dwelling in covenant with God.
As sinful creatures, however, we have
broken that covenant,
become estranged from God, wounded ourselves
and one another,
and wreaked havoc throughout the natural order.
We
stand in need of redemption.
